Computerised systems, e.g.for cargo management, satellite navigation and satellite communication, have been used for quite some time in merchant vessels. However, the market has traditionally not favoured having electronics integrated as essential parts of the two-stroke main engine. We believe that this situation will change over the next few years, as has happened in the automobile industry over the past 10-15 years.
